Divinity Coast - Bonus Mission
I have tried to do the Divinity Coast Bonus Mission over 20 times now, most other bonus mission I get done in no more than 5 attempts. I have tried a number of tactics form rushing through the level taking different routes, taking players and NPC’s, and taking it stealthy. Everyway I try I fail the mission because a mob will spawn near to one of the chosen and usually kill them before my Warrior/Ranger can even sprint there. In many cases the chosen I have to save are dead before I see their little green triangle appears on the mini-map.
I know the Chosen are supposed to be in danger but the players should at least some chance to save them, if not the bonus mission is pointless. Out of the last 20 attempts every time one of the chosen has died just before they appear on the mini-map or just after and no matter how fast or how stealthy I go I can never save them. Those that I have with my party survive just fine, until I give up because random luck is not on my side.
On a game that is supposed to be about skill I would say the element of Random luck on the bonus Mission is far to great and it borders on irritating and frustrating, to people who want to follow the full story.
They Chosen either need more health and a better healing spell so they can last longer, or have it so they are indestructible until they join your party. Also while reading across the board it seems many players are having an issue with this bonus mission, as no strategy seems to work most of the time, it’s all down to how lucky you are and the randomness of mobs. And considering there are multiple mobs of creatures that appear close to four of the chosen you have to save, after the first, there is a very high chance one mob will be close enough to the chosen when they spawn in that they attack them straight away, and because they are weak. It’s almost impossible to get there in time to save them, as you usually have to fight through one if not two mobs to get to them.
I was wondering how many other people have had trouble with this kind of event with this Bonus Mission? If so It might be worth posting here, and hole fully Gaile Gray will see it and flag it at Arena.net.

Seems like a poorly designed or bugged bonus.
They fix/change quests all the time. I likely will just wait and try it after each patch

I have finished the bonus mission. There are five chosen that must be saved. Here is how I did it. First, the chosen, and other, ping the radar. When you see this, rush to them. When you get to them, you must heal them. I'm a W/Mo and i use area heal for 110 points, then I watch them and if they start to drop I hit them with healing breeze. I will start to attack the others attacking them, but my mission is to keep the chosen alive, others can finish off the attackers. There is one chosen in the village where you get the quest. The second is just over the long bridge. The third is to the left after you get over the bridge near a house. Run as soon as you save the second one. You can usually get there before that one is attacked. Continuing stright past the bridge you come to a village. There is one on the road and one near the house. You must split into two groups. One to save one and one to save the other. There is one more in that village. There is a group of monsters before the pinging chosen. Go around them to save the next. Not sure it they are chosen but save to be sure. Then one more later. Need to have five when you get to the final village in the mission.

I'd like to know how you did this. I'm trying to finish this bonus right now, and I'm unable to cast healing breeze on the villagers. Currently I stand between the villiager being attacked and the attacker. I can always heal myself.

Ok, the villagers were found EXACTLY as described. There are 5 of them.
BUT
Make sure you talk to Lionguard Minah to complete the Bonus before walking into the final mission area to complete the main mission.
